In this Chappie dog food review we will examine one of the most overlooked commercial dog foods on the market today.
Chappie dog food is available in just about every supermarket that sells dog food. It is owned by the grocery giant Mars (also owns Pedigree dog food / Royal Canin dog food), recommended by vets and trusted by MANY dog owners…yet it seems to be constantly ignored by many modern dog owners when it comes to choosing their dog’s food.
Chappie Dog Food Review
Original Ingredients:
Fish & Fish Derivatives (including 4% fish)
Cereals (min 4%)
Meat & Animal Derivatives (including min 4% chicken)
Oils & Fats
Herbs
Minerals
A little like Butcher’s Tripe, Chappie often gets used once and discarded as a result of the odour. However, dogs absolutely adore food that smells strongly.
Dog owner opinions on Chappie Dog Food
I know a lot of people that feed it with very good results so as in all things, you make your choice, it is certainly better than many of the other cheap foods out there.
It’s used a lot in the rescues i have spoken to to help dogs put their weight back on etc.
Chappie is genuinely the best of the economical foods; I always have a few tins in the cupboard in case of upset tums because it’s so well tolerated.
I had Hector on tinned chappie after he bloated. It was the only food that was gentle on his sore tum and he gained weight. As for the smell…….I’ve no smelly buds so it didnt bother me
Another vote of confidence for the Chappie dog food here. I wouldn’t feed my boy on it all the time, but he went through a phase of having really, really sensitive digestion, and Chappy was what was recommended to me during that time.
I feed mine Chappie sometimes, it’s certainly one of the better brands found in the supermarket
A man I walk with has a 20 month old GSD who has been diagnosed with EPI and was told to feed him on Vitalin plus his enzyme powder, the weight was dropping off him,I got advice from another forum and they advised for him to go on Chappie original,he has been on Chappie about 6 weeks now and is steadily gaining back his weight, the owner has had no problems with him and he’s enjoying it a lot better than the vitalin.
